KUALA LUMPUR: Construction specialist Haily Group Bhd (HGB) has secured a RM53.80 million construction contract from Tasek Maju Realty Sdn Bhd (TMR) to build 170 residential units for the Taman Mutiara Maju township in Johor Bahru.
This contract, the fourth major job clinched by the company this year, brings the total contract value of its ongoing projects to RM713.56 million.
HGB's wholly-owned subsidiary, Haily Construction Sdn Bhd, received a letter of award from TMR on June 26, 2023, for constructing 170 units of double-storey cluster houses and related works.
HGB founder and executive director See Tin Hai said the
company looks forward to working on this project with TMR, a renowned
real estate developer in Johor.
"This contract, among our major wins to date, demonstrates the confidence developers place in our ability to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards of workmanship," he said in a statement.
The houses, each measuring 32' x 70', will be located in
Phase 3, Taman Mutiara Maju, Mukim of Pulai, District of Johor Bahru in
Johor.
The contract shall commence on August 17, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed in 15 months by November 17, 2024.
See said there are many reasons to be optimistic about the long-term outlook for property development and the construction industry in Johor.
He said Johor will continue to benefit from key infrastructure projects, such as the Rapid Transit System (RTS) link, which is expected to be completed in 2026.
Further, prominent developers have announced new projects in Johor this year with gross development value (GDV) totalling over one billion ringgit.
"So far this year, we have secured total contracts worth RM204.48 million, which has exceeded what we secured for 2022.
"As we continue growing our total contract value, we remain on track to achieve a stronger financial year in 2023. We will continue to work towards securing more high-value projects this year," See said.
HGB has secured several significant contracts amidst the steady resurgence of the Malaysian economy post-Covid-19, solidifying its position as one of Johor's leading contractors.
Major contracts bagged by the company this year include a RM37.85 million contract from Austin Senibong Development Sdn Bhd to construct 77 units of three-storey shop offices within the Crest@Austin project, a RM78.28 million contract for the construction of 262 units of residential properties in Pontian, Johor from Gadang Holdings Bhd's subsidiary, Mandy Corporation Sdn Bhd, and a RM32.66 million contract for the construction of 186 residential units in the Bandar Putra township from Nice Frontier Sdn Bhd, a member of IOI Properties Group Bhd.
HGB is a leading contractor in constructing residential and non-residential buildings in the Southern Region of Peninsular Malaysia, particularly Johor. It also provides construction machinery for rental purposes.
